BSH processes the personal data of candidates on the following legal bases:

The personal data (see the fields in the online application form profile, where only fields marked with an "*" are mandatory) entered on the Application Platform by the candidates are compiled, processed, and used solely by the Companies for the selection process, as well as for personnel recruitment purposes.
The information entered by candidates in relation to the question "How did you hear about BSH Electrodomésticos España?" is used beyond the selection process for statistical analysis in an anonymous form. Personnel selection is carried out by the responsible employees of the Human Resources (HR) department of the Companies in cooperation with the responsible employees of the respective functional department. Only the Human Resources department and the employees in charge of personnel selection for the available position of the corresponding department(s) have access to the (personal) data provided by the candidate.
When applying for an advertised position, the (personal) data provided by the applicant is only accessible and processed by BSH employees entrusted with the selection process for the available position. If an applicant submits an unsolicited application, the (personal) data provided by the applicant is delivered to the respective functional department/BSH company within the BSH group.
3. Administration of application profiles by the applicant, standard deletion periods
Application Administration
Applying for a position (regardless of whether it is advertised or not) is possible without registration on the Application Platform. In such a case, the applicant is provided with a link by email (confirmation email), where the applicant can (but does not have to) create an account on the Application Platform. When an account is created on the Application Platform via the link, applicants can access their application at any time. Applicants can view their entered (personal) data at all times and see the (personal) data provided to BSH in the selection process.
The applicant can update their contact details at any time. However, the documents and information about the applicant's candidacy cannot be updated/deleted by the applicant themselves (only through BSH - see below). In addition, the candidate can upload additional documents at any time on the Application Platform. Candidates should be aware that changing contact details will affect all their current applications.
When no longer interested in the advertised position, the candidate can withdraw their application at any given time on the Application Platform itself. The applicant will no longer be considered a possible candidate for the position. When the applicant does not wish to continue with the unsolicited application, they can withdraw their application at any given time on the Application Platform. The applicant will no longer be considered a possible candidate for the position indicated by the applicant.
Companies may contact the applicant to ask if they are interested in joining a group of people who have expressed a desire to work in one of the companies and/or the BSH Group ("Candidate Pool"). By being part of the Candidate Pool, BSH may contact the candidate for (other) positions that match the candidate's knowledge and/or experience. When no longer interested in participating in the Candidate Pool, the applicant can withdraw their participation at any given time on the Application Platform.
Deletion / Retention Periods
In the case of an application for an advertised position, or in the case of an unsolicited application, the candidate's application data, documents, user account, and other personal data will be ultimately deleted 24 months after the end of the selection process. The end of the selection process means the moment when the candidate (i) is hired by BSH, or (ii) has been rejected by BSH. In the event that the applicant has withdrawn their application themselves, the personal data will be deleted within 7 days.
In the event that the applicant has given their consent regarding admission to the Candidate Pool, the candidate's application data, documents, user account, and other personal data will be deleted from the Candidate Pool 12 months after admission to the Candidate Pool. In the event that the candidate has been admitted to the Candidate Pool and subsequently wishes to withdraw from it, then their application data, documents, user account, and other personal data will be deleted 12 months after the end of the application process or - if later - immediately.
4. Protection against misuse of the candidate profile
BSH complies with specific security measures in order to protect candidate profiles from manipulation, loss, damage, unauthorized access, and disclosure. BSH adjusts its security measures in accordance with technological development. The data transfer between the applicant's web browser and the Application Platform occurs with an encrypted HTTPS connection (transport encryption).
5. Use of artificial intelligence in the selection process
As part of the initial phases of the selection process, BSH may use an artificial intelligence tool called CLARA, designed to conduct preliminary interviews and gather information related to the application. If your application progresses to this phase, you may receive a call or interaction from CLARA. Before starting the conversation, CLARA will:
- Clearly identify itself as an artificial intelligence system.
- Inform you about the processing of your personal data.
- Request your consent to continue with the interaction.
The information collected during the conversation may include answers about professional experience, education, skills, availability, and professional interests related to the vacancy the candidate has selected.
Right not to interact with artificial intelligence
You can choose not to participate in an AI-conducted interview at any time.
- Before the interview: You can select the "Request human assistance" option during your application or use any channel enabled by BSH to request the intervention of a recruiter.
- At the beginning of the call: You can refuse to participate when CLARA requests your consent to continue by stating it expressly in the call.
- During the interview: You can request at any time that the process continue with human intervention.
Guarantees for candidates
BSH guarantees that:
- Exclusion from AI will not be detrimental: The decision not to interact with CLARA or to interrupt the interview will not have any negative impact on your application or reduce your opportunities to participate in the selection process.
- There is always human supervision: The results, evaluations, or reports generated by CLARA are only a support for the selection team.
- No hiring or exclusion decision is made exclusively through automated processes: Any relevant assessment will be reviewed by qualified selection professionals before making any decision related to the application.
- Accessibility and inclusion: BSH will make alternative formats and human assistance available when necessary for reasons of accessibility, disability, or personal circumstances.
6. Automated decisions
BSH does not make decisions based exclusively on automated processing that produce legal effects or significantly affect the candidate in the terms provided for in Article 22 of the General Data Protection Regulation. The results generated by CLARA are used only as a support tool for selection professionals and are subject to human review.
7. Employment
In the event that the candidate is hired by one of the Companies, their candidate profile is not automatically transferred to the respective HR department's administration system but will be collected as part of the hiring process.
8. Employee applications
The operational privacy policy prevails over this privacy policy for employees. The Candidate Pool is not available to employees; information on alternative development tools for BSH employees is provided by the respective manager.

As proof, we record the implementation of the individual steps of the "double opt-in" procedure.
As part of our newsletter distribution, we use statistical methods. We use this data exclusively for the statistical analysis of our newsletter distribution. 10. Use of cookies in BSH eRECRUITING
What are cookies and why do we use them?
Cookies are small text documents or pieces of code that contain a unique identification code. Cookies store information such as your preferred language or other personal page settings. If you revisit the Application Platform later, your browser will transmit the stored cookie information to the portal. This allows us to display personalized and appropriate information for you. Among other things, cookies ensure that you remain logged in during your visit to a website and that the website functions smoothly.
What kind of cookies do we use?
We only use technically necessary cookies for the website to function correctly.
What cookies are actually used?
a) Session cookie: serves to identify the user during the ongoing interaction and is automatically deleted when the browser window is closed. More specifically, the session cookie is used for the following points:
- Assigning an application to a browser during the application process.
- Assigning to an existing user in the system ("I am logged in as Max Mustermann").
b) Banner cookie: This cookie is set once a user has clicked on the banner. This means that the banner will no longer be displayed for this user. The cookie stores the banner status for one year. So the banner will reappear after one year at the latest.
c) Candidate cookie: The applicant's cookie is checked/set when accessing the Application Platform. It is used to create an evaluation of the web page from which applicants were directed to the Application Platform. It can also be used to determine if these candidates have used it to complete their application. The candidate cookie is created for one week and is only evaluated internally and is not transmitted to third parties. Like any cookie, it can be deleted at any time through the browser.
Embedded video and cookies
Job advertisements may contain external content from YouTube, which complements the respective job advertisement and is provided by BSH. As part of the technical provision of this service, it is technically necessary for the IP address of your end device to be transmitted to the third-party provider, because only then can the content be played. If you agree, you can play the video by clicking on the play button. If you do not agree, do not load the external content; the website is technically configured so that in this case the IP address is not transmitted to the third-party provider. You can find additional information about data protection on YouTube here.
11. Data Processed
BSH may process the following categories of data:
- Identification and contact data.
- Information contained in the curriculum vitae.
- Academic and professional data.
- Work experience and skills.
- Information obtained during interviews and selection tests.
- Records of interaction with AI systems used in the process.
Candidates should not provide special categories of personal data that are not necessary for the evaluation of their application.
12. Data Recipients
The data may be communicated or made available to:
- Technology providers that provide services related to the management of selection processes and artificial intelligence tools.
- Public authorities and competent bodies when there is a legal obligation.
All providers will act in accordance with data processing agreements that guarantee compliance with data protection regulations.
13. Additional information on data protection
In order to display the website in your internet browser, we use various technical devices to ensure that all content is always up to date. To ensure that your user experience, particularly the loading speed of the website, is the best, we also use technical service providers who allow us to provide the necessary content for the presentation of the website (so-called "content delivery networks" or CDN). These CDN technical service providers act on our behalf and are subject to our instructions by the corresponding agreements. The data collected in this way will only be used to display the website content in your internet browser and will be deleted immediately after intermediate storage within the scope of delivery.
For technical reasons, every time your internet browser accesses our website, it automatically sends information to our web server (e.g., log data). We store some of this information in log files, such as:
- date of access
- time of access
- URL of the website
- Version of the HTTP protocol used.
- files accessed
- volume of data transferred
- type and version of the internet browser
- type of operating system
- IP address (anonymized)
The aforementioned log data does not normally contain personal data. We only analyze log data based on events when necessary, especially to remedy failures in the operation of our website or to clarify security incidents. We store this log data indefinitely. In special cases, it may be necessary for us to collect the full IP address of the device, as well as the log data to remedy failures or preserve evidence related to security incidents. We delete this data once the failure has been remedied or the security incident has been fully clarified, or if the original purpose of the processing no longer exists due to other factors. In the event of a security incident, we will transmit the log data to the investigating authorities on a case-by-case basis, to the extent permitted and necessary. We store such log data separately from other collected data related to the use of our website.
We base the above data processing operations on a legal permission in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 for:
- Personal data of applicants provided in the application process on the application platform website;
- Registration on the Application Platform website;
- Storage and processing of personal data in the "Candidate Pool".
